Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father's house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way."
Thomas said to him,"Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?"
Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me."
Jn 14:1-6
God has a place for all of us... if we are willing to accept it.
I think we should keep this in mind for a couple of reasons. First - to keep our hearts from being troubled, as Jesus says in today's Gospel reading - to keep us in hope when we are trapped in our own self-doubts, and when we doubt God's mercy in our failings. It should help us keep getting up and following the Lord, to keep accepting that place he has for us.
Second... if God has a place for all of us, then he loves all of us - and though I think we all know this, it's worth hearing often - because if God loves all of us, how much more should we strive to love one another - to see the presence of God in one another?
OK, that's my quick hit for the evening. I'm back, and thought I'd say "Hi!" this evening. It's been a great, blessed week, sans internet connections and cell signals... plenty of time to pray and think and just be. I'll tell you all more about where I was and all associated things in the next few days, but for tonight, I'll leave you with a photograph. Yes, those are stars in that night sky... the landscape is moonlit... it was one of those photographic opportunities you just can't pass up. ;-)
+Peace, and all good, friends, I hope you've all had a wonderful week.
